West Alabama Works takes services to Bibb County

Event attendees apply for jobs at the Bibb County Outreach & Hiring Event.

Approximately 100 people attended West Alabama Works’ Bibb County Outreach and Hiring Event Thursday, August 22 at Bibb County Career Academy.

“We want to bring our services directly to our outlying communities. This event is the first of several for the surrounding counties in West Alabama, and we hope to help people get great jobs and learn about training opportunities they may have not known about,” said West Alabama Works Executive Director and Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama COO Donny Jones.

Moellertech served as the event’s industry partner. Located in Woodstock, Moellertech is an automotive supplier for Mercedes-Benz, U.S. International. The company specializes in injection molding. Shelton State Community College and the Tuscaloosa Area Career Center also participated, sharing training and funding opportunities for those seeking employment.  

Event attendees were able to apply for jobs with over 18 companies through West Alabama Works’ CareerConnect system.
