The Tuscaloosa County School System held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Northport Career Tech Annex on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. It is approximately 22,000 square feet and is scheduled to be completed by mid-October 2018, with the exception of Welding, which will start the new school year at Echols Middle School. The other programs will start the school year at Tuscaloosa County High School. Programs will move into the CTE Annex once the certificate of occupancy has been issued.

It will serve students at Tuscaloosa County, Northside and Sipsey Valley high schools.

The Northport Career Tech Annex will house programs in:

*Automotive Services
*Environmental and Natural Resources Systems
*The new Modern Manufacturing program
