Job applicants invited to hiring event in Moundville

Job applicants are invited to attend a hiring event from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hale County High School, 50 Wildcat Way in Moundville.
The free event is organized by West Alabama Works and will feature job opportunities with the Westervelt Co., which includes Westervelt Lumber, Westervelt Ecological Services and Westervelt Forest Resources.
The Westervelt Co. needs workers for its Hale County location. Westervelt will be the only employer present at the event and will receive first access to applicants’ information. Attendees at the event can also apply for jobs with more than 18 companies through West Alabama Works’ CareerConnect system.
Applicants should dress in business-casual style and treat the event like a job interview.
Shelton State Community College and the Tuscaloosa Area Career Center will have information about training and funding opportunities.
