TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - The Tuscaloosa VA and West Alabama Works are working closer than ever before to help veterans find jobs.

West Alabama Works installed a special kiosk in Building 135 on the VA campus. It connects veterans to job openings in West Alabama. The kiosk is also open to dependents of veterans as well as their caregivers. They can search for jobs and apply for positions with local employers in West Alabama.

The kiosk also allows them to create a profile, or resume’, that goes on file for future job consideration.

“A lot of times with veterans, OK they feel left out. So, feeling a belonging or a part of something that means a lot. Work is a big part of that. It is a big part of that because it gives them that feeling of worth,” according to Allen Riley, the Vocational Rehab Manager at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center.

The kiosk has been in place for a little over a week.
