The workforce summit allowed them to talk about issues facing west Alabama businesses and find solutions that could help improve the situation.

“The workforce is starting to level out, but industries in west Alabama are so successful in west Alabama that many of them are expanding,” explained Donny Jones, Executive Director of West Alabama Works, adding that they continue to see turnover with the workforce. “So, we’re constantly bringing in new employees to our industries.”

West Alabama Works also organizes job fairs to help teenagers and adults get hired throughout the year.

The next workforce summit will take place in about three months.
