The Regional Black Belt Hiring Tour continues to Marengo County next week. West AlabamaWorks! and the City of Demopolis would like to invite you to a hiring event on Wednesday, June 15th from 9am to 2pm hosted at the Demopolis Civic Center, 501 N Commissioner Ave., Demopolis, AL.
The two previous hiring events in Greene and Hale Counties saw much success. We were able to connect with 102 individuals and find open positions through career connect for employment. These hiring events are meant to offer job seekers the opportunity to find out more about local and regional companies, make personal connections with prospective employers, and interview on the spot.
“If you need a job, come to the job fair, there will be a lot of great employers looking for your skills. Having this hiring event make it easy access for job seekers in West Alabama to the actually see people doing the hiring face to face,” said David Lyons, Executive Director, Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce.
Industry partners include Peco, Foster Farms, Prystup Packaging Products, Coastal Industrial Contractors, GD Copper, Alabama Department of Human Resources, Whitfield Regional Hospital, DCH Health System, Phifer Incorporated, Love’s and Speedco Truck Care, Hale County Healthcare Authority, Greene County Health System, Alabama Army National Guard, Demopolis Fire and Rescue, WestRock Eutaw, and additional employers on westalabamajobs.com.
“We continue these micro hiring events over our 9-county region, so residents have an excellent way to meet a large number of potential employers at one time,” said Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama COO and West AlabamaWorks! Executive Director Donny Jones. “These fairs not only provide employment opportunities, but also provide a network for career exploration and professional development,” said Jones.
Bring copies of your resume, not required to attend. This will be a come-and-go event and is free and open to the public.
The hiring event is a partnership between West AlabamaWorks!, Dixie Country 98.6, 100.1, the Alabama Career Center, and Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services.
