Adopt-A-School is pleased to announce that The University of Alabama College of Continuing Studies committed to two schools, Central High School and Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools-Middle (TMSM).
The partnership with TMSM will afford the students an opportunity to enroll in ACCESS and participate in LEAP (Leaders Exploring Academic Possibilities), a summer program for rising 9th graders. Students participating in LEAP will be exposed to activities centered around team building, career exploration, community service, and more. The College also plans to support Club Days, Student and Teacher of the Month, and the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) programs.
The College will partner with Central High to promote and provide college readiness courses that will prepare students for college, tutoring support, and ACCESS. The partnership will also work together to provide financial literacy for students and create a plan for professional development for teachers.
These partnerships will nurture students as they advance from TMSM to Central High and potentially enroll in The University of Alabama or other institutions of higher learning.
