TCTA earns first place in 7th Annual Team Build Competition

The 7th Annual Team Build competition was held October 27-28, 2022 at Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy, where High School students from all over Alabama competed to demonstrate the skills learned in their home building and other construction trades.
Seven teams from across the state, including a TCTA team had two days to build an 8×10 storage building by having to read plans and assemble the buildings by themselves. Two electrical students will be wiring each building.
Team Build Winners
1st place- Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy
2nd place- Calera High School
3rd place- Shelby County Career Technical Center

Jason Blackwell, Education Specialist for Architecture and Construction for the State of Alabama expressed the importance of competitions like Team Build as well as courses that teach hands on skills.
