Hillcrest High School senior receives WOW Varsity tuition Scholarship to attend Shelton State

Each year at our Worlds of Work expo (WOW), Shelton State Community College (SSCC) and Bevill State Community College offer a free semester of tuition to a high-school senior who attends WOW Varsity. Each senior who attends is entered into the raffle and are drawn at random at the end of the event.
The student has the choice of Shelton State or Bevill State and the winner this year is Savannah Kelley from Hillcrest High School who chose to attend SSCC.
Savannah received special recognition in front of the Tuscaloosa County School System during their board meeting Monday, December 12, 2022. Shelton State President, Dr. Chris Cox was in attendance and increased the scholarship from a free semester of tuition to a one-year full tuition scholarship to attend Shelton State.
She plans to enroll in Shelton's healthcare program to pursue a degree in nursing to follow in her mother's footsteps. Both her parents also attended SSCC.
