Black Belt Outreach continues in Greene County

West AlabamaWorks! has partnered with the City of Eutaw to host a hiring event Valentine’s Day showcasing multiple positions in West Alabama.

West AlabamaWorks! and the City of Eutaw would like to invite you to a hiring event to be held Tuesday, February 14th from 1pm to 4pm hosted at the Robert H. Young Community Center (formerly Carver Middle School) located at 720 Greensboro Ave. Eutaw, Alabama 35462. The event is free and open to the public.

After the possible closure of a well-known electric bingo and gambling hall in Eutaw early February, dozens of jobs could be at stake.

“We are having this hiring event for residents in Greene County for economic security for the entire city”, said Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama COO and West AlabamaWorks! Executive Director Donny Jones. “For communities, these opportunities mean that policy and business leaders can plan for and recover from economic transitions by supporting workforce-development activities that prepare eligible participants for good jobs in high-demand occupations aligned with state, regional, or community economic-development strategy,” said Jones.

Industry partners include WestRock, DCH Health System, Greene County Health System, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Buffalo Rock, Drax, and other positions on westalabamajobs.com.

Attendees will be able to learn tips, resume assistance, and skills needed to apply for jobs with confidence. Job seekers are more than welcome to bring copies of their resume, although not required to attend. This will be a come-and-go event and is free and open to the public.

The hiring event is a partnership between the following community partners, West AlabamaWorks!, the Alabama Career Center, Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, and Skilled Trades of West Alabama.
